I'm totally clueless, I need some opinions...?

My Ukrainian friend is going back to Ukrain tomorrow. Today he went to my work place to say good bye, and he said "Maybe in the future you can go to Ukrain"...

I was like "sure, hehe... (nervous chuckle)" O.o

Was he trying to say "something", or was he just trying to be nice, or what?....

Sounds like he was more or less being nice.  But, then again.....maybe even though he knows in his heart that the chances of that are slim to none, he wishes you could visit him there, and threw that out to see what you would say.

It's hard to know with such little info. I think he was just offering you his hospitality. Unless he held your hand, brought you flowers, couldn't take his eyes off of you, etc. then he was just being a friend.
