Do most marathons allow the use of iPods during the marathon? I need to plan my training accordingly!

Cheers!

  1. in case a marathon doesnt allow ipods while running, find the music you really enjoy running to, and start teaching yourself to run to the beat while training. once you start getting certain songs you like to run to in your head, you can recall that stuff from memory and then youll notice youre automatically running to those beats, and you can play the music in your head.

as for training up for a marathon, i would have to know where youre at in your training. on even days of week, tuesday thursday and saturday set your day out for a long consistant pace. 5 miles a day one week, 6 miles a day the next and so on as your body builds up the distance. on mondays wednesdays and fridays go to a local track and do a lap, then get down and do 25 push ups, get up and do another lap and get down and do 25 sit ups, keep doing that until you cant move anymore, but set out a goal, 16 laps or 20 laps, each lap is a quarter of a mile. it teaches your body to start using every muscle including abs and arms when it gets fatigued.

good luck in your marathon running

  2. some do, some don't.  If you are running one that is mostly out in the countryside, they will let you.  If you are in a big city, they need you to be able to hear the traffic and signals, so no.  So I guess if you wan't to find a smaller marathon, or one out that starts out of town and ends up in town, you probably would be safe to wear your ipod.
