Question:

I'm traveling by air - can I bring two cats as carry on with United?

The reservation agent for United said as long as they both fit under the seat in front of me. I have two soft sided carriers and they will fit. However, will they consider one carrier my "carry on" and the other my "personal item"? Also, can anyone verify that the agent is correct in stating that I can have TWO pets? She made the reservation for me and i'll be paying the additional fee for both cats - there were no other pets on my flight (I guess there is a limit on how many animals can be in the cabin on a particular flight).

I'm moving from FL to CA and don't want to get stuck at the airport trying to get my babies on the plane with me!

Thanks!

  1. this website should answer some of your questions

it look the agent is correct

  2. I honestly don't see why they wouldn't let you bring both, with one as your carry-on item and the other as your personal item.

The only suggestion I have would be to try calling United again to ask if you can bring the two of them - hopefully you'll get to speak to a different agent and get confirmation from two different people to back you up if anyone questions you at the airport.

I wish you the best of luck, and have a great flight.

  3. not as a carry on, they would be in cargo

  4. If they have a heart they will

  5. You might want to check this page http://www.united.com/page/article/0,672... of the United Airlines website regarding pets.  If you still have questions it might be better to contact United Airlines directly and discuss it.  It would be very sad if you turned up at the airport and were told it's not possible to take the cats.
