In Mexico, how are the people? Which mexican cities are safe? Which cities aren't in poverty, where a young adult can have fun and enjoy himself?

My deepest fear is getting robbed or something, people do desperate things for money you know.

  1. majority of the people are very polite in mexico, the places to worry most about are tijuana, juarez, nuevo laredo, and mexico city and any places in oaxaca, guerrero, and chiapas, otherwise best places to travel are tamaulipas and veracruz, the people are nice,so are the beaches, and any city in those states are good, cordoba, orizaba, veracruz city, ciudad victoria, and tampico are all nice.

if you dont wanna be robbed, dont look too tourist like, dont look like a victim, and dont look weak.

  2. Stay away from cities near the US-Mexico border... any beach city like Cancun, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta etc.. should be safe and with many tourists, so nothing bad happens often. Mexico City is both safe and very dangerous. As long as you stay in the city near all the historical buildings, shopping centers etc, it is fine. But going on the outskirts where there is no people on the streets is bad. The mexican people are all nice and welcoming ( I know this from experience in my trips down there) and they will help you out. Many know English in busy tourist cities, if you were to need help.
