I'm traveling to Montreal between May 30-June 7. Can someone tell me what the weather will be like?

What clothings, shoes should I take. I speak very little French and just wanted to know if I'll have any problems communicating.

Should be in the 70's.  I speak no French at all and go once a year.  Have fun on St. Catherine's Street.  The strip clubs are awesome.

The weather will be nice. Maybe a little chilly in the early morning and evening but in general this time of the year the weather is very nice. Take jacket and long pants just in case. You don't need to speak french when you are visiting Montreal.

Like the others have said - bring some light clothing (100% cotton would be ideal) and comfortable walking shoes and you'll do just fine, trust me!

The weather is usually lovely and mild/warm that time of year.

Also, you'll be alright speaking only English - especially if you're staying on the west side of town!

It's too early for a weather report, but odds are good of having lovely weather.  If I were you I'd pack t-shirts, but also a light jacket and a couple sweaters and sweatshirts.  Running shoes will do fine if you're not going anywhere fancy.

Don't worry about the French - most people in Montreal speak some English, if not lots of English.

will be around 20-25 celcius or 70-80 farenheit.  if you need directions best place to go is Mc Donalds.  I live 2 hours away from Montreal.  Most people in MOntreal speak English especially if they work with the public also are alot of English speaking Montrealers and basically there is an English section in the city but I am not 100% sure where it is located.

As others have mentioned, the weather is expected to be around the low 70's in the daytime, and may drop down to 50's at night. Of course, you will probably want to check the forecast for Montreal area a few days before you go there.

Clothes would be typically what you would wear for spring to early summer weather. You won't be trudging through snow and slush, but you can expect to have some rain during that week.

As for your French skills, most of the touristy areas and the downtown core merchants can speak both French and English. Most can give you directions if you are lost, waiters understand what you want from a restaurant menu, and all the hotels will be fully bilingual.

In case you do not have a car or maps, most of the subway is safe and reliable (the BLUE line tends to be more crime-prone than the others) and they offer great maps on their website of the downtown core. A lot of people simply walk all over the place, especially in the area from Atwater Street over to Universite Street, from Rene-Levesque Blvd up to Sherbrooke Street.

The average daily high temperature for that period is 72 F and the average low temp is 50 F.  It could get as warm as 80+ during the day or you might have highs in the 60s.  You should expect some rain during your stay, but overall, it's a nice time to visit Montreal with temperatures that are comfortable but neither too hot nor too cold.  The humidity can  be high making it feel warmer than it is.

You will probably walk a lot, so bring some comfortable walking shoes (waterproof ones if you have them).  If you plan to go out at night, then you might need some dressier shoes. You will need a light springtime jacket for days that are cooler than average and night-time.

You don't need to speak French--almost everyone that you are likely to encounter will speak English and you can assume that staff in hotels and restaurants speak English.  However, learn to say "Bonjour" (Hello)  "Merci"  (thank you) and and a few other words and phrases and French speaking people will appreciate it.
