  1. After landing at Munich and clearing customs, you can catch a train from the airport.  Just ask for a ticker (fahrkart) to Ulm.

It is a nice ride.  The train will go west from Munich with a stop (usually) in Augsburg.  No need to get off of the train.

Don't know how long the stop is in Ulm, so yhou might want to hump your luggage rather quickly.  If you happen to be military, just show a taxi driver in Ulm the name of your new unit.  They are really up on locations.  They are also very honest and most speak english.  Have fun you lucky dog!

  2. I don't know how many connections you have to make. But, when I do the DB, I go to the English schedules website and print the route info. With a wristwatch you can know when to be alert for the next deboarding for a connection. The schedule will also specify which dock you will depart from (you generally go down a flight of stairs beneath the tracks to get to A,B,C,D...) or, the intercom does call out the next city stop, but I sure felt better having the times to disembark in my coat pocket.

  3. Just go 2 ulm

  4. You will arrive at the Munich F.J.Strauss Airport. If you want to continue to Ulm then best is you check the timetable in advance.

You can access the English version of the Deutsche Bahn Website under http://www.db.de/site/bahn/en/start.html

Make sure to enter Munich Airport as the departing station as the Munich Airport is connected to the Railway System of Deutsche Bahn (DB). So you do not have to go downtown.

You can then buy the train ticket at the DB-Desk at the Airport.
