  1. I second Ha Long Bay ...its a beautiful place. Start at one end and travel to the other. Sapa in the north country is another spot.

If you like artists and tailors galore then Hoi An is not to be missed my friend.

  2. Cu Chi. Crawl deep down the tunnel with an opening only a body size of the vietnamese. You don't even see there are tunnels below where you stand. With $1,000, i was surprised. I became an instant millionnaire. forex rate is $1 = 15,000 dongs

That  was in 2003, Ho Chi Minh. The girls are  "dep", beautiful. To my vietnamese hosts, I say, "cam on", thank you.

  3. if you're going to Ho Chi Min... visit the Cu Chi tunnel system... You will have an opportunity to get the unique experience of guerrilla's living and fighting underground during the war (a crawl through 50 -100 meters out 200 km of the tunnel system is unforgettable). its quite near the city... enjoy your trip!

  4. YES!!!! Dau Tieng, Tay Ninh, Cu Chi, Ho Bo Woods, Ben Cat, Bien Hoa, Saigon and Vung Tau. The beaches at Vung Tau are very nice. Saigon is pretty nice, lots of nice places to see and nice hotels.

  5. Lived there for three years, building the most beautiful resort in the country - Ana Mandara Resort & Spa - on it's own section of PRIVATE beach in Nha Trang. If you can't afford the rooms, then go for dinner or drinks at least once, it beats all the other resorts in Vietnam hands down!

Street food in all towns is clean, healthy and excellent value. Stop at a roadside trolley and buy a cheese baguette sandwich for less than a buck, the bread is wonderful.

Look at the most beautiful schoolgirls in the world ( I'm not a pedo by the way, they look like lovely ghosts) as they waft along on their bicycles dressed in flowing white Ao Dai uniforms.

Drive out into the countryside on a rented motorbike and have a look at the stunning greenery and vistas,

  6. Dalat

This is one of the best city I can think of about VN.

Dalat is 300km away from Saigon and it has what Saigon and surroundign areas dont have. The weather is cool and has many waterfalls. It has many sightseeing and is famous to be known as a city of travel. The central should be the best place to live in, there're many hotels around (people here living by doing hotel business mostly).

    Highly suggest!

  7. In Ho Chi MInh city? I'm alws there

  8. hue the ancient capital, haipong bay and hanoi, saigon

  9. Angkor Wat at Siem Reap. It is the biggest set of temples lost in the jungle (lara croft the craddle of life was shot there).

Loved the place and the people.

    Hope this helps.

  10. Ho Chi Mihn city is awesome, don't miss a night out at the traffic circle in front of the Rex hotel, Nha Trang is beautiful with awesome beaches, so is Phan Thiet.  A boat cruise on the Mekong delta is a must.  I've only been to the south, hope to go to Hue, Da Nang, Hanoi, and Haiphong someday.

I thought Angkor Wat was in Cambodia.

  11. hey, everyone was right, but most of them miss out a must-see- before-die place in Vietnam called:  Ha Long Bay.

believe me, it is really beautiful.

  12. hey, come to Hanoi, one of the most awesome place in the world.

  13. There are several really must see places in Vietnam.  Hue City is my favorite.  The old Citadel (the forbidden city like in China).  It is awsome.  The local people there are so friendly and the food is so good and reasonable.  The Perfume River boat ride is fantasic.  The Capital Hanoi is very beautiful too and so many great sites to see there.  Again the food is fantasic.  Vietnam is a great place to go.  We will be returning to Hue and Hanoi again this coming June 2007.  We try to travel there once a year for 3 or 4 weeks each time.  Cheers.

  14. In HCMC make sure you go and see the American War Crimes museum. Then go and take a look at the old US Embassy, the place where the American choppers flew from just before the North Vietnamese broke down the gates.

I'd give Dalat a miss, not much there and a long way out of the way.

Nha Thrang is a great town on the coast. Perfect weather and a real party town.

Mui Ne is just south of Nha Thrang and is perfect. Nothing in the town but a really long unspoiled beach. Great for wind surfing.

    Hue is great too.

The central market in HCMC is great and there's a great restaurant across from the main entrance called Pho. Pho seems to be the national dish and it's basically beef rice noodles - but it's excellent. Try it. There's a picture of Bill Clinton on the wall of the restaurant, he ate there as did other famous figures.

Enjoy Vietnam, it's one of the best places I've ever visited.
