  1. It depends. Hotel prices in London are just about the highest in the world, probably just below Tokyo!

If you are ready to spend really serious money at a five star luxury hotel, a room at Claridges would cost a minimum of £199 per night and if you can afford that, you would probably want to spend around £500 a night for a suite.

The Bayswater area has a lot of reasonably priced hotels and is close to central London. You can be pretty sure that a three star hotel will offer good quality and you are going to pay at least £50 per night for the room.

There are lots of cheaper alternatives, like hostels or priavte bed and breakfast places, but you'd need someone to talk with you about your requirements to take this further.

Remember that in London you will usually pay per person, not per room, but normally the cost of breakfast is included. Crazy, but that's the way we do it over here.

  2. Depends on where you want to stay.  Staying in the city center will be more costly.  There are some more reasonable hotels in the Pimlico area on Belgrave.  There is easy tube access to anywhere in London.  Or you could stay closer to Victoria station.   It depends on what you want to spend.

    Expect small and pricey.
