I'm extremely new to tennis, but it seems like a fun sport so I want to try it out. At the end of the summer my high school will have try outs for the team. I've never seriously played an actual match or anything like that.

What are some ideas on how I can be prepared enough so I make the team? Would going to a tennis camp over the summer be a good idea?

thanks :)

  1. Hit as much as possible. doesn't matter with who or whatever, but just hit. as much as you can. a camp would be a wonderful idea. or lessons. just hit as much as you can.

  2. exact same thing with me! i practiced a lot over summer and got better. make sure to take some lessons. to really impress the coach learn how to serve and do the simple shots like ground stroke and back hand because a lot of people at tryouts cant do that so you'll stand out! i didnt think i was all that great but since i could hit the ball fairly well and serve i made the team! i hope that helps. good luck   :)

  3. WELL... it depends on how good ur team is, but ive seen ppl make the team with half a summer's worth of exp.

take some lessons from an instructor, preferably someone who has a good rep, and start from there. Make sure ur in shape cuz it helpz alot. a camp wud be good but i dont think that u get enuf induvidual attention. Whoever came up with the idea that u learn anything from taking lessons with 10 other people at the same time is crazy.

If there are 1 or 2 ppl receiving instruction then its ok.

    Hope it helps

    blah blah blah
