  1. dont worry, i take tennis lessons.

when my mom first signed me up, there was a tennis court and almost every day when we had time, we would go to a school's tennis court, practice hitting the ball with a raquet, or another public one that was still open.

but the most important thing to do is make sure u have a raquet 2 practice with, and a ball 2 practice with.

  2. i play tennis and one day i want to become the next maria sharapova. some tips that help me are: watch the ball, don't get angry if you miss, enjoy it, once you get more advance you should try and get your tecnique right and always try to get into position to hit the ball as that would help.

try not to waste your money on expensive gimics as most of them don't help! just get a cheap racquet and some good quality tennis balls.

    hope this helps :)

  3. Try and hit the ball, at least back over the net. That's a start. Practice will help a lot. Best of luck. don't waste too much money on equipment until you are getting better and decide you want to go there.

  4. Please take a few clinics, lessons and or private lessons....if you want to be good at it, learn to do it right from the start.  Then build on that

  5. Keep your eye on the ball. Thats helped me very much.

Also, have a good time doing it. If you go out with a bad attitude, it will affect your game.

Don't eat right before you go out, don't eat anything 30 minutes before you go out and play, and make sure its like a fruit or vegetable or something with a lot of protein in it.

  6. Try taking a class. They are very helpful and don't cost that much. Don't try and kill the ball when you swing at it, either, you just need to lightly hit it. For practice, just try bouncing the ball up and down on your racket. This will really improve your hand-eye coordination.

  7. sugest getting a coach to teach you the basics and it will do you so much good and to start control is key. dont rely on your power.

By the way GOOD LUCK :-)

  8. try to take a class if you can to learn the rules and how to hit the ball. After that, get a raquet and ball (you can find that almost anywhere, Wal-Mart, Target, sporting goods stores)

Work on coordination. Try "dribbling" the ball on your raquet. Do it sort of like paddle ball, except without the string.

Lots of parks have tennis courts, try to find a public one near your home. Go with a friend and play some.

Also, if you have a dog...you can practice your serves in the backyard and get the dog to go and fetch the balls and bring it back. That's what I do all the time. My serve got so much better, and my dog loves it!

    Good luck, and keep practicing!
