I'm trying to connect my ps 3 to the internet but it says DNS error (80710102)?

i've been on loads of websites offering help and have tried lots of stuff but nothing has worked so far

  1. I hope this helps... I was running into the same problem a few weeks ago.  I was getting frustrated because it was even doing it if I hard wired the PS3 with a CAT5 network cable......So, I went to my wireless routers support website and updated the firmware for my linksys router.  That fixed the problem....

    For setting up the PS3 wirelessly, do the automatic setting, all you would need to enter would be the passphrase for the secured network (that is if you have it secure).  Thats all I had to do and it works great....I never had to manually enter any IP or DNS server on the PS3.

  2. to find your primary and secondary dns go to start-run-cmd- and type in ipconfig;  if that does not work then go to start-control panel-network connections-local area connection- click on the support tab and click on details.
