  1. if there are things in a format like: something juice(contains a bunch of things you cant pronounce), then you should put it back on the shelf. if it contains all natural ingredients, then grab it, pu tin in the basket, and buy THAT.

  2. anything that you can't pronounce:) - too many chemicals and preservatives are also very bad for you ......check the carbs, sugar, sodium & fat amounts on the labels

  3. I've been doing the same thing. Really, anything you can't pronounce probably isn't good for us. I look out for the fats/saturates, and all the words for sugar - fructose, glucose, etc.

A doctor on nutrition recently said on a broadcast that he only buys items that have five or fewer ingredients - I found that really interesting. He said to only shop around the perimeter at the grocery store - breads, dairy, meat, veggies, fruit.

  4. monosodium glutamate (msg) is horrible for you.  I read a book (can't remember the name) that equated it effects on the brain to crack.

  5. Anything with the word "enriched" associated with flour

    also:

    High fructose corn syrup

    Dextrose

    Maltodextrin

    Sucrose

    Glucose

    Wheat flour

    Corn Starch

    Rice Syrup

    Rice or Rice Flour

    Hydrogenated oil

You can, however, stick with "WHOLE GRAIN wheat flour" any other wheat flour is refined.

  6. If you can't read the ingrediant don't eat it
