we'll be having our second child in the fall and we wanted something more spacious (we have a honda accord coupe). we thought of a used Highlander, but thought the Prius would be wonderful for the mileage it gives, although it is pricey and have so many pro's and cons to take into consideration. then i started to check out other cars and my mind is boggled! any advice?

  1. id say get a prius it may be a little pricey but its spacious and gets good mileage itll pay off in the end trust me.

  2. For a family vehicle I would not recommend the Prius.  There  is no room for future use.  Maybe your children do our will want to play sports, or other activities.  I would recommend going with the Highlander or any type of minivan.  The MPV or the Odyssey are wonderful minivans.  If you would like to go the more SUV route the Ford Escape or Mazda Tribute offer unbelievable gas mileage and plenty of space for future use.

  3. How about a Toyota Camry Hybrid. The Prius may get a better MPG, but the Camry hybird gets just about 33City/34Highway. Also, you will have more space than a Prius.

  4. ►The Toyota Corolla gives 41 MPG without being a hybrid the best MPG for a regular car. Very good safety rating and nice price. Check them out!

  6. if you have the older Honda Accord coupe, why not take a look at the 2008 Accord Sedan? if you want an SUV check out the Honda CR-V, very spacious and still fuel efficient. It would be great for mom dad and 2 kids. CR-V is also pretty safe and of course it has Honda reliability. It wont cost you an arm and a leg either.

  7. For the price, a prius is not a very good investment.  It costs alot of money for a car that gets a smidgen over what a camry or altima gets for mileage. The prius is also very unreliable. I would look at nissan, toyota, and honda. all of them make very good and reliable transportation with high gas mileage and good resale value.

  8. ford edge, lincoln mx (something)
