Question:

I'm trying to find a company in Arizona that will leave a bin at my company so that we can recycle.?

All companies that I've contacted require a monthly fee. Seems like if we want more companies/people to recycle, they shouldn't have to pay a huge monthly price......just my opinion.

  1. That is a valid point, but what would you suggest? These are private companies, they have to cover very high costs. I suppose we could vote in a bill to help subsidize those costs, but then we would have to raise taxes in order to pay for it. If you are in AZ, then you know our state economy has been facing a crisis. So the taxes would have to be paid by individual citizens. Many of those citizens would oppose such a tax, feeling that it only benefited companies, and why should they help pay a business's bills.

Unfortunately, Arizona is way behind on recylcling. The number of people who actually recycle properly is very much on the low end of the scale. Many neighborhoods are "given" recycling bins, to encourage their usage, this cost has to be paid somewhere too, so if there is already government subsidation it is probably being used up here.

You see how tangled this problem is?

Can you convince any of your neighborhood businesses to share the cost and of course the usage of the bin? That may help defer the cost.
