I'm trying to find a good place to buy a rabbit. Pet Co. or Petsmart?

i heard Pet Co. isn't that great so i want to know if Petsmart is any better.

Neither of those are good places. They buy their animals from breeding mills and they are often sick.

I work for Petco in the Northwest Indiana area.

Aww...we aren't that good?? We do have our faults (the company), but so do others!!

At my Petco we do not sale rabbits, but we do have one who is up for adoption. The Petsmarts around me do not carry Rabbits.

Do you have a rescue or adoption place around you like a humane society?

There are many wonderful places where you can adopt many animals including a rabbit! try Petfinder.com, or look it up online.

I looked on Craig's list for my rabbit.  Found a lady on a farm who breeds all kinds.

I work at a Petco in Syracuse,NY and we are good, we do not carry rabbits though, I dont know if any other states Petcos do... Good luck!

Petsmart doesn't sell rabbits. I'm not sure if Petco does, but I don't like the way they care for their animals.

You should try petfinder.com or your local humane society. There are TONS of rabbits out there who need adoption, which is why Petsmart no longer sells them. Adopt and save a life.

xmolly, I don't really know what you're talking about. It's dark at night in the wild, too. It's dark at night in peoples' houses, too! Rabbits aren't afraid of the dark..

Any pet store is a bad place to buy rabbits.

Try kijiji.ca (or kijiji.com) and you can usually find a breeder that is cheaper than a pet store and better quality.

I'm Sorry but.. all you people that work at a shop like that..

Do you know what happens to the rabbits at night? they just leave em' there in there cages all night with the lights off with any animal.. image that big building it would be pretty dark. My friend brought a rabbit outta' Petsmart and it died a few weeks ago she had it for one month and it came wit lice and flees. it was on antibiotics for its chest pains .. which probably was caused by bad breeding in Mills. which is awful.. anyway.. i would say you find a rabbit breeder on-line and check out Lion Head Rabbits long fur i have one its black and white called Abbie i got her 4 years ago from a friendly breeder and shes still living at 4 years old. shes going to be five at christmas :) anyway take care . :)

Don't buy rabbits from pet stores and places like that. Neither Petsmark or Pet co are good place to  buy a rabbit. I have brought 5 rabbits from pet stores and such and they all died! You need to find a rabbit breeder.

I like pets mart and there rabbits are meet as pets. (they don't sell them as food for snakes) Pet co sells there rabbits as snake food so they always seem to have a larger selection. jmo
