I need this knife for camping and everyday purpose. I know what I want but I can't seem to find one like it for a reasonable price. I want at least a 3 1/2 in. blade partially serrated folder. Theres plenty of them i know but i want one with a large blade width wise. Instead of having a pencil like width to it. I need a large blade for more leverage. Please help. Thanks

  1. I would check out the CRKT line. They build sturdy knives and they come in many styles and are made for many functions.Kershaw also has some nice ones...tho I find CRKT to be more sterdy. Gerber, cold steel and Smith and wesson (I think they make better knives than guns....and they make good guns) are also known for there durability.

    CRKT:

    Kershaw:

    ColdSteel

    Smith and wesson

    Hope that helps.

  2. Forget them both! I've owned knives made by these companies and they're not the best. Get a BENCHMADE! I used to buy a knife or two each month, but not since i got my griptillian. It's US made, with unsurpassed quality. You won't be sorry

  3. You have good taste in camping knives. Check somewhere like a TSC or a hunting shop for some ideas. For a all-around camping tool that takes up virtually the same amount of space with three times the utility, I recommend  a Leatherman or similar multitool. They can be a little pricey, I admit, but they will serve any use you might need. Most come with a serrated and non serrated blade, along with screwdrivers, can openers, and a small saw. If you can get one, always make sure it has the two blades, a couple of screwdrivers, a can opener, a file, and a saw. I have cut down medium-sized trees with the saw (not kidding). Also, make sure it unfolds into the pliers (almost all multitools do) because these can do almost anything you need to do with pliers. However, if you are on a budget, your style will work great too. See if you can get a good brand and not some knock-off. I personally recommend Winchester brand. I have a non-serrated pocket knife that survived a trip into a camp fire (please don't ask).
