  1. Hi, I'm a mom, wife, architect, lecturer, research officer and a PhD scholar from Malaysia. Somewhere close to Singapore and Indonesia.

Every child is a gem and it is the parent's responsible to provide best early childhood care and education. A child is priceless, so money is not a concern here. It is an investment, and you will reap the profit in future.

Your concern has been my area of interest in my master thesis. My research described about quality childcare at workplace for working mothers. If you are a working mother see that the organization has on-site childcare facility in the employment benefit. Most developed countries have better childcare benefits and provisions as compared to developing countries.

However if you are not working, the best is to find out from your local government or council or the National Association for the Education of Young Children for best practice in your neighbourhood. Here are some tips for you:

Somehow you cannot compromise between quality and affordable. Both requires appropriate experience, qualitification and mindset of each caregivers or operators to run the centre towards developmentally appropriate practice. What you should be more concern are good practice, safe environment, accessible and fun.

If you need further clarification let me know.

  2. try looking up in your phone book Day Nursery it is funded by the united way and is based upon your income.  i used it for awhile when my daughter was young.  in fact it was one of the best daycares in indianapolis

  3. Try calling your local elementary schools, churches, and child care information agency. They should be able to give you the names of programs in your area and then you can contact the individual programs for information on location, fees, hours, etc. Don't over-look free programs such as Head Start, Pre-K, and programs serviced by high school vocational development centers.
