I'm looking to buy this vehicle and wanted a complete list of options this vehicle had installed when it left the dealership.

  1. call a dealership of the make of car your lookin at and see if they can run it through there database for you

  2. If a dealership installs a "manufacturer" part and it's covered by warranty they are required to report it to the manufacturer in order for the warranty to be validated.

Note: This is usally only done when the vehicle is still covered by the original factory warranty.

Call a dealership, any dealership should have access to the data base, and ask them to run a vehicle history report. You can also check with the manufacturer instead of a dealer.

The dealer may or may not have done it, some do, some don't but should. If this is the case the manufacturer should have a record of it.

If it's an "aftermarket" part then the dealer doesn't report it, except perhaps to the maker of the part. (Most likely not)

In this case the only record would be from the installing dealership.

  3. Do you know the exact dealer that they bought the vehicle from?

    If not, then ask.

Then contact the dealer, and they may or may not have it on file. They should, however...

  4. Have the dealer service department type in the VIN.  This should pull up a complete list of original equipment.  This works for Jeeps, but may not for other brands.

BTW, can't you just look at the vehicle and see what is installed?
