  1. You may need to go to a library.  I actually work at a college library & have found some article, however, I don't think you'd have free access to them if I send you the links.  I can, however, list the citations for you.  Maybe a librarian at your local library can help you find the journals.

    The Education of Jane Addams

    J. O. C. Phillips, History of Education Quarterly, Vol. 14, No. 1, Reinterpreting Women's Education (Spring, 1974), pp. 49-67

    Jane Addams on Human Nature

Merle Curti, Journal of the History of Ideas, Vol. 22, No. 2 (Apr. - Jun., 1961), pp. 240-253

    Jane Addams: A Pilgrim's Progress

Jean Bethke Elshtain, The Journal of Religion, Vol. 78, No. 3 (Jul., 1998), pp. 339-360

    A Day at Hull House

Dorothea Moore,  The American Journal of Sociology, Vol. 2, No. 5 (Mar., 1897), pp. 629-642

"Almost Worse than the Restrictive Measures": Chicago Reformers and the Nickelodeons
