  1. Are you SURE she only remembers the first name??  Maybe have her look up some old girlfriends of hers and see if they remember his name?

Did she know where he went to school?  Look up old yearbooks at the school's library.

Look up old phone books - they usually have them at public libraries.

    Good luck to you!

  2. Best of Luck here. My husband found his birth sisters through extensive google searches. he was adopted and found his birth mom. All he had were there names she gave them and where they were adopted. From there we did a million google searches and located them.

  3. You're looking for a guy by his first name and an area.

Impossible. Sorry. Just nothing to even point you at.

  4. If you know the area and the person last name

Try the new phone book and ask if they are related to that person.

My family lives all over, My husbands, parents, grand parents, brother all live in the same place

Some people or family members stay around the area

    This will be the easy

You can also google the person name, and contract the people about with the name and around the age

    good luck

  5. sounds like you would have to do some hardcore research. get a copy of your mom's high school yearbook and have her find his picture. that will give you a  name, assuming they went to school together, and then you can search for him in the phone book or pay to find him on a people finder search engine, like peoplefinder.com. if your mom doesn't have a yearbook, call her high school, they probably keep at least one copy in their archives. good luck!

  6. Don't bother. It is most likely he is some bum, not someone you will feel good about being his daughter.

  7. Are you still in contact with your biological mother?  If so, try to ask her a few more questions.  Where did he work?  Was he a mutual friend of someone she knew?  Did he have siblings, where did she meet him?  I am guessing she knows more than she is telling you but he may not be aware that she was ever pregnant.  The other possibility is that she lied to her parents or family about who the father was.  With only a first name and an area the search will be much more difficult.

Keeping pressing gently for answers, you have a lifetime of history what will not go away.

  8. If your Mom is willing to help you, there is always a chance.  I found my birth family after intence and exauhstive searching.  I also found someone that I knew 20 years before and I only remembered his first name..."Robert" and I thought that was hopeless.

If She would take a trip back to the area that she lived in at the time, maybe she will remember the house he lived in or others that knew him.

Check that local library.  An address can be looked up in a cross directory from that year and can give full names as well as how many people lived in the household and what their first names were.  It will also give the names of the neighbors who may also known him.

Of course he didn't go to School with her, but If he had lived in that area a long time he may have gone to School there.  Our library has yearbooks for the local schools.  Since you know his aproximate age it should be easy to locate the 4-5 books that your search would be limited to.

Once you have where he lived and his name, trace as far as you can in the local directories.   My Grandparents lived with-in a block of where they lived when I was born.  You could get lucky.

I would also try the Social Security Death Index.  It is free on line and Dead people don't move around much.  They do lead to obituaries that can give you names for family members.  If you can find just one that will answer you that could lead you to all the others.

Anyone who owns property is listed on property tax rolls.  There are search sites that for a small fee (about $10.00) will search property tax rolls in what ever states they have available.  Some state are better then others.

If you get a name you may be able to look up his birth records in some states and get exact birthdate info.  his parents names and where he was born.  Marrige lisences and divorces are also sometimes available on line.  If your mom knew he was married that is another place to get information easily and pretty cheep.

If you need more info on sites I used to be a search angel and still have my list somewhere.

    Good luck.

PS... I stopped being a search angel because of all the sad results of my searches.  I never reunited anyone who was happy with the reunion except me and my own family.  Make sure your ready for what ever you may find and have a good support system.  If this is something that you just know inside that you need to do, pray, I found many doors opened this way that seemed impossible.

    Good luck and God Bless,

    Shannon

  9. I hope you find him, sweetie. But I'm sure no one can help you with that little bit of information. You may want to contact an agency!

  10. Maybe if you give the first name & the area...

  11. get a list of schools in the area. assuming his age is close to hers, try the yearbooks at the school libraries.  you may also want to talk to some of the facuty thats been there for a while. check the newpaper in the area for a "baby roster". your birth may have been listed in the newspaper along with your bio. parents names. also check the hospitals for the same type info. any records regaurding your birth. you will need to be very very very discreet, sweet and innocent. people still have a lot of stigmas associated with adoptions.  good luck.

i hope to meet my first born one day. he will be 17 next monday.

finally: do not have preset ideas of waht happened or what they may be like.
