  1. If you want it to be a family thing then you could cook dinner, set up some candles, sprinkle a few rose petals on the table.  1 rose will not cost much.  Bake them a cake, buy them a card.

If you want them to go somewhere alone then you can set them up with a picnic basket, a couple of glasses & an inexpensive bottle of wine.  If you live near the beach they could take it there or maybe just to a park nearby.  It's still Summer so you could see if there are any fireworks shows going on right now.  Maybe there's a garden nearby they could stroll around in.  It usually only costs a couple of dollars for entry or sometimes it's free.

  2. Gather all the people...family and friends that they care about and have a "potluck" dinner. Everyone brings a favorite dish...Set it up buffet style. Ask each guest to write a few words about the Anniversary Couple and have everyone read their creative writing at the party.

My thought is...This gift will have more meaning to your parents than anything materialistic.

    Best Wishes!

  3. what about cooking for them.. Thats nice

  4. Your parents should have a lovely evening at home!!  If you have siblings, try to get them out of the house for an few hours.  Go to a friend's or relative's house.  Then, depending on what your parents like, they can either cook a romantic dinner together (my hubby and I love cooking special dinners together), or you or someone else could make the dinner a little before hand.  Then, have the table set with some nice candles, and if you have some wine, put that on the table.  Use the nicest dishes you have (the fine china!), and put on some soft, romantic music (their song, maybe), and put out some pics of their wedding and other special times.  Then, allow the evening to progress on it's own.  Perhaps have some old favorite movies around, you can find them on tv, borrow them, or go through your own collection.

OR...if you are the kind of family that doesn't get to spend much time together, then plan a family dinner similar to that.  Make it more fun and have the pictures and talk about favorite memories.  Play some family games, and really spend the evening communicating and bonding together!

  5. Is this something you want to do for them? or some ideas you want to give them to do alone?
