I'm trying to get a job at Wendy's, but I think I did the process wrong?

I haven't really had a "real" job before.

I filled out the application neatly, and went to turn it in today.

I just went up to one of the cashiers and said "Can you give this to the manager for me?"

and he said "Uhhh...ok" and kind of looked at me weird.

Did I do something wrong...? What are you usually suppose to do when you turn in an application?

No I don't think you did anything wrong but usually when you turn in an application also ask to speak to the manager and be confident you are doing everything right. It helps a-lot with a job process. The cashier is just a dummy.
