Question:

I'm trying to get my friend to quit chewing tobacco?

I have been friends with this kid for a couple of years now, however this summer he picked up the habit of "dipping". At first it was something that he did like once a week so I had no problem with it. However, it has gradually been getting more intense. I'll be around him for maybe 4 hours and he'll do it like 5 or 6 times. Now that we've started school he does it occasionally on the way to school, and on the way home for sure. I also know he's doing it at home but I'm not sure how often. I recently did a quick search about the chewing tobacco and I read some pretty horrible stories. After reading those I'm convinced that I have to get my friend to stop. If anyone knows some good sites that I could show him, that will help him see how awful this stuff is for him. Any other info would be great too. Thanks

  1. I would suggest reading reading and more reading.

Use the search bar here at Yahoo and look up chewing tobacco.

I would also go to YouTube and try to find some videos on the subject.

It is very hard to get someone to quit an addiction but you are a good friend to try.

    Good luck

  2. Chewing tobacco can give you mouth cancer, it rots your teeth, and a lot of girls think it's VERY unattractive.

  3. Tell your friend how much you value his friendship, and that you do not want to lose him to mouth cancer. I am a survivor of prostate cancer, and I know, how me having, that effected my family and friends.
