  1. What color is the ceramic? Is it really old? Is there a picture or etching on it? Are you trying to identify the company that made it? Sorry, the question is hard to answer without some more details.

It helps to know what kind of pottery it's made of and what kind of glaze was used.  Also, if it has decoration on it, that can help you to identify it.  You could always ask an archaeologist (at a university or your state's historic preservation office) or an antiques dealer.  If there are professional potters in your town, at a school or college, maybe, or in a pottery shop, they'd at least be able to help you out with the glaze and clay types, which'd be a start for internet research, if all else fails.
