We were at a depth of 80 feet, off of Jupiter Florida. The ray was small, about 2 - 21/2 foot across. Light tan, almost white with brownish, red spots and a relatively large stinger for it's size.

  1. Without a pic, it's hard to say. In all likelihood it was a young Atlantic Stingray (most common in that area). It may also have been a small cow ray. If you could do a rough sketch or if you have a picture, that would make it easier.

There are a number of stingrays in that area, you may consider checking out a book on the Florida area stingrays.
