Question:

I'm trying to link my virgin cable box to my TV, VCR & DVD. I got them to play but can't record on the VCR...?

I have connected the input from the wall to the cable box, the VCR output of the cable box to the VCR line 1 in via scart, have connected the VCR line 2 to the input on the DVD via scart. The TV is connected to the cable box directly via scart. Everything plays fine, but I can't record onto the VCR. Can you help me work out what I'm doing wrong, please? I'd be so grateful. Thanks.

  1. LOL..that's why it's called Virgin.  Spend all night trying and something still isn't plugged in the right place.

Seriously, this is very hard to picture, but it almost sounds like the signal is going right to the tv and not to the vcr.  Try hooking the cable box to the vcr, then vcr to TV.  Leave the DVD out of the loop until you get the VCR to record properly, then mark you plugs temporarily and figure out how to add the DVD in later.    Note, I'm not certain this will work...just an idea.
