He said he lives 5 miles from the Swiss Embassy and his name is Alvin J. Johnson. I would love to mail some memorabilia to him. Can anyone help me find him?

I'd also suggest www.das-oertliche.de , however, if he doesn'T have a phone (landline) you might have no luck. Other ways of locating would be to google him (try google.de and click on Seiten aus Deutschland).

Try Google Earth and put in Berlin and look for the Swiss Embassy address and put that into Google Earth and then you can see all the streets around that area within five miles or more if you wanted.

That will give you a general picture in your head of what you are looking at. To find them is not as easy, you would have to do a search on their name in sites like http://www.dasoertliche.de/ for example.
