I need to find somewhere that offers help for converting a car, and also helps to buy motors, batteries and the like.

  1. if you have the money, i can help you with my perpetual electric concept design. but it is more prudent with this design to first convert an EV into a perpetuaul electric vehicle. so when it is done. you can make conversion kits for most vehicles, including SUV's. i have been looking for funding by people who think the same way i do. the people who invest in this perpetual electric concept, will create a trillion dollar industry. the product base on this concept covers autos, cycles(freeway legal) watercract, wheelchairs, and on, and on! if you are interested in this concept, catch me at : bougar_bill@yahoo.com

  2. Nice choice of vehicle, for several reasons:

    - fairly heavy engine coming out, more capacity for batteries

    - lots of payload capacity in case you want more batteries

    - lots of unused space under the pickup bed

    - turn some of the underhood area into a "trunk" so you can store valuables out-of-sight

    - a 4x4 low-range gearbox available

    - lots of aftermarket stuff available

I highly recommend the Electric Vehicle mail-list:
