I'm trying to play a disc that had video footage recorded on it, but my computer nor dvd will play it"outdated

It says it may be "outdated" it's an mpg or mpeg, i think. It can locate the file, but then it says it's outdated or can't work. it won't play in my dvd player either. it's not damaged, and it's worked before... is there anything i can do?

What app are you using to try and play it?  You say it's worked before - was that in your PC and DVD player or just one of them?
