  1. Nope.  Bad idea.

  2. In advance, I apologize for my straight-forwardness....but....are you CRAZY? If you are doing sprints, why would you attach weights to your ankle? I mean, like for like every other type of exercise, attaching weights would help you build muscle and endurance, but running with weights on your ankles? Are you looking for a way to break, sprain, or twist you ankle? If you are looking for an ankle, leg, or any other type of injury, just attach the weights!(*sarcasm*) If you want to still be able to run or sprint, Do NOT use weights. I am a runner and I KNOW that they will do nothing but cause PAIN.........just train without the weights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Ankle weights are NOT made to go running in.....they are made for people to slowly lift their ankles like people do with their arms to strengthen them gradually.....running in them will cause you to have to sit out for a week or two or even more from running.

P.S.S. If you want to strengthen you ankles do these exercises:

    1) Standing up, lift one leg up, so your weight is only on

one leg. (You may use some kind of support to help with balance.)

    Hold for about 20 seconds.

2)Switch your weight to the other leg. And, hold for about 20 seconds,

    too.

3)Repeat steps 1 and 2, so that each leg gets the 20 seconds, 2 times.

    (4 times total)

4)Remain standing and put both legs together. Then stand on your

    toes for 10 secs.

    5)Relax for 10 seconds.

6)And, then stand on your toes for another 10 secs.

7)You are now done. Make sure you do these ankle exercises once a day

every day. Then, it will strengthen your ankles.

    Good Luck with your sprints!

  3. No, you should work on endurance

  4. no they will wear out your knees at an extremely fast pace. no ankle weights, where a weight belt, with sandbaggs put in the belt. this will make your body mass heavier, but will not be directly in contact with your legs.

  5. Dont use weights, youll injure yourself. Belive me, ive been there before.

  6. It all depends on what you want. If you are looking to sprint faster, which more than likely is what you want, than i would just do some lifting with your legs. and also improve your form when sprinting. The bigger your leg muscles are, the better your muscles will contract which makes you run faster.
