I heard about selling it on a lot for consignment. How much does that usually cost and is it an upfront fee? How does it work?

Shouldn't be an upfront fee...But keep in mind that they will mark up the price several hundred or even thousands of dollars more than you are asking for it (this is how they make the money on it).

Instead, you would probably be better off trying to sell it yourself.

be careful, most car dealers are selling brand new cars cheaper than ever now just to make a sale. so try to sell it buy yourself, a car dealer will rip you off.
