  1. It depends where you are.

In the uk you need to get a provisional licence that will allow you to drive under supervision if you are insured for the vechile.

Once you gain enough experience you need to pass a theory test and then a full driving test.Asuming you pass then you can drive any vechile of the class your licence allows once you are insured etc for that vechile.

The full driving licence will allow you to drive larger vechiles under supervision like hgvs or busses etc ( its like a provisional hgv licence)

  2. The sooner you get your learners permit the better.  I waited until I was seventeen and it cost me $10 more to take the test.  The permit test is very easy (it only took me about 15 min. to complete).  Start driving as soon as you can, the more prctice you have the better off you will be in the long run.  I also suggest taking drivers education, it is usually offered through school and will save you money on your insurance.  It depends on what state you live in but in New York you have to wait six months after getting your permit to try for your license, and even then you can't drive after 9pm until you're 18.

  3. It depends on where you live but here is an example........

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status

    Primary Proof of Identification

    Secondary Proof of Identification

Proof of any Name Changes if Different than name on Primary ID

Two Proofs of Tennessee Residency with your name and resident address - NO P.O. BOXES (Documents must be current = dated within last 4 months). These documents can list the parent or guardian (parent's name instead of teen's name) as long as the parent or guardian holds a valid Tennessee Driver License.

Proof of Social Security Number or sworn affidavit if no Social Security number has been issued. (Acceptable document is Social Security Card, W-2 form.)

Proof of school attendance/progress (SF1010 Form, provided by the school; necessary for Learner Permit only unless student is applying for TN GDL with an out-of-state Learner Permit or Driver License)

Teenage Affidavit/Financial Responsibility (also available at the DL Station)

Certification of 50 Hours Behind the Wheel Driving Experience (SF-1256) (also available at the DL Station)

  4. you have to go get your permit at a local DMV, its 18 questions and you need to get atleast 15 correct to recieve your learners permit.. Then you have to wait 6 months with 50 hours of driving practice before you can get your license

  5. It really depends on a lot of stuff. First off, it depends on the state you're in, because some don't even allow you to have a license until you turn 17. Secondly, make sure you get the booklet that has all of the laws and things on it so you can know your stuff. Thirdly, check on the laws, because some states allow you to get a license when you turn 16, but you have to have a permit for at least six months first. Basically, there should be a driver's license place near to you and you need to go ask them about it.
