I'm turning 21, and I'll be spending it on Bourbon Street. What should I drink?

I don't really know many drinks, usually at home I just stick to the gin&tonic, margaritas, and beer.

What drinks do you think would be best to try out for my 21st?

And are there any New Orleans specialty drinks I should try while there?

I like almost any drink, unless it tastes like straight alcohol.

Daiquiri stands are all over the place down there. i like 190 octanes, hurricanes, and hand grenades. Have fun. You will love New Orleans.

A couple Mind Erasers, a couple Brain Hemorrhages, then a couple Snakebites, and you won't remember what you drink after that.

That's how I spent my 21st :)

Try a Hurricane......I drink and I had only two for one night, and traveled about with those.  LOL....no kidding.  I think there is a Pat O'Brien's out there with a fountain with water and flames in it, then again, it coulda been the hurricanes, lol (j/k there is a P. O'B)

I would stick with beer.  There's so much to see and experience while on Bourbon, you don't wanna miss it.  

But I do have to say, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop on the corner or Bourbon and St Phillip makes the best Hurricanes.

Please don't get drunk and end up the victim of a pickpocket. Drink in moderation and eat something to absorb the alcohol. Some restaurants will give you a free meal or free drinks if you show your ID and prove it's your birthday. Stay in well-lighted areas and don't be afraid to report any suspicious activity to the police.
