I'm twenty and am getting braces...should I be worried?

I'm twenty years old and am getting braces in a couple months. I really need them, so I decided to just go ahead and get them put on. I've always needed them, but my parents wouldn't pay for them when I was younger. I think that I am going to be embarrassed because I am older, I am a college student (you don't see anyone my age with braces!) Should I really be worried about this?

Well first of all theres different types or braces.  There is the metal bracket braces, invisalign, and braces that can be put on the back of your teeth.  If you go with normal braces you will be in pain for a little while and your lips can get stuck to them.  Also, the inside of your mouth will get cut up to, thats the reason for the wax that they give you.  Other than that you should be fine.

no who cares what ever butty else thinks. if you really need them get them get them. and i see lots of people wearing braces in collage so do not weary. just be pard of your self and you will be fine

Don't worry. It looks different but not really weird. It will be worth it in the end.

And, I don't know how much more it costs, but you could also look into Invisalign, which you can't see at all.

i guess you could say im younger than you alot  and i have braces erm.. i had they for like 2 months and i have the metal kind , don't be scared to show them your braces , alot of people think i look better with braces , " don't judge a book by its cover" it doesn't hurt when they put it on , i've been where you were at i was freaking out when i was gonna get my braces.

no, ive seen people over 30 with braces. it looks odd, but not disturbing.
