could be for several reasons..

firstly, make sure you're sending from the right email address (eg if you've joined with a yahoo address, but you're trying to reply from a different one, it won't work... same with g/google mail - it doesn't see that gmail and googlemail are the same thing)

if that doesn't work, see if you can log in and post on the site - if you can log in, you should be able to post

if all else fails - email the moderator (should be an owner address on the group homepage) and ask them to take a look!
