you have to call your AT&T phone co, and get the international rate, if you do not have the international plan your phone will NOT work, you need to do this about 1 to 2 weeks before you go, AT&T charge me $5..00 a month, the calls  is free, when you get back just call and drop the int rate.

call at&t and get a plan for mex, i knows there one that the calls will be .50 min if you dont the calls will be .99min and they add up fast i just got back for there and didnt call first and so i payed .99 a min and now my phone bill is over $1,000 son if i was you get a plan for mex be for you got get my be like $40.00 a month  that still better then geting a $ 1,000 phone bill  good luck  ,oh your phone will work my phone worked i just didn't get a plan befor i laft and now have a BIG phone bill
