I'm using Sevin dust 5% on my tomato and hot pepper plants. When can i eat them?

After dusting plants, when is it safe to eat the veggies?

  1. Always read the directions on the package it's better safe than sorry........Usually most herbicides and insecticide s and fungicides tell you how long to wait but in any case ALWAYS wash well with soap and water and RINSE well........


  2. Sure later be sure you check the label on the amount of days you can use it to harvest. There should be something that will say tomatoes use _  days to harvest.

  3. Sevin is a relatively safe chemical, so you can use it up to harvest. I don't use it, but I would make sure that the produce is thoroughly washed before serving to friends or family.

  4. You can eat them as soon as you wash them very good with soap and water. The dust will not effect the fruit.
