  1. Bitlord 1.0

  2. I have tested quite a few bittorrent clients and found that they all download at about the same speed when properly set up.

This is a guide for setting Vuze up for best download speed.  It should help:

    http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/...

  3. uTorrent has pretty much all the advanced features that Vuze has, but it's MUCH smaller and uses much less ram. Downloaded it, and follow this guide to get your best possible speeds:

    Problem: uTorrent speeds are slow.

There are many factors to consider.

Are there many seeders (people sharing the entire torrent)?

Are there many leechers (people downloading and sharing parts of the torrent)?

Are you a hit-and-run downloader? Some trackers will give preferential treatment to people who share (upload) a larger amount than what they have downloaded.

Does your ISP (like Comcast) throttle bittorrent traffic? Check this list:

    http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad...

Are you running all torrents at the same time? You only have so much bandwidth. It's good karma to share more than you've downloaded, but if you are downloading pause all the other torrents until your current download is complete, then resume uploading the others. You can get SUBSTANTIALLY better speeds if you follow the tweaking guide I will list at the end of this. If you're willing to do a few speed tests, some math, and change some settings, it will be well worth it.

If you have XP, you'll want to patch your Max Half-open connections with this file:

    http://torrentfreak.com/static/EvID4226P...

or for Vista, go here and follow directions:

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/04/09...

Your max half-open is currently 10 (most likely). I have mine patched to 80. Do not go over 100.

You'll want to pick a "listening port" to forward. Here's a list of what ports are used for different services:

    http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-num...

You'll want to use a port that out of the way, unassigned, and not blocked by your ISP. I use port 50000 (fifty thousand).

In uTorrent, you'll go to options>preferences>connection and put a port number in the "port used for incoming connections" spot. Do not click the "random port" button.

You'll need to forward that port on your router. Here's a good guide of how to do that:

    http://www.portforward.com/english/route...

You'll also need to open that port on your software firewall, here's a guide for that:

    http://www.portforward.com/english/route...

You can use Peer Guardian 2 to filter IP addresses of people who upload junk file bits and thus increase the amount of time it takes for you to download the full file (your client program has to download the junk, then sort through it and try to again to download the real thing, and possibly again and again):

    http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/

If you've chosen a port, forwarded it on your router, opened that port on your firewall, and patched your max half-open connections (tcpip.sys file), you're now ready to do a few speed tests and then follow the guides to change the uTorrent settings. Do a few speed tests and use your average results for upload/download speeds.

    Speedtests:

My favorite guide is the one from Xtreme-source, and if you use uTorrent it's the only guide you'll need.

Don't forget to restart your torrents after you've finished downloading and share for a while. It's good to share AT LEAST as much of a torrent as you've downloaded (1to1 ratio). People sharing is what makes torrents work.

  4. Yeah its called you're a pirate. Why do you illegal download it's retarded get a life and stop pirating.

  5. I've heard utorrent is very good.
