I'm using a diffuser should I use curl defining lotion or mousse?

I'm just about to do my hair and I don't know if I should use Marc Anthony's strictly curls curl defining lotion or volumizing mousse I have normal hair thats sort of on the thick side.

I use a little bit of some curl product when I do my hair, if I want it curly that is. Then I let it dry for a bit then use the diffuser to give it some volume and get rid of some frizz. I would say use at least a little bit of the product, it helps to hold the curl longer.
