  2. I got a treadmill a couple of weeks back. Start slowly, keeping the speed at 2 to 3 Km. It is best to fix the time , say like 10 mts. If you burn 20 to 30 calories to start with it is good. You may increase your speed if you feel that you are not getting sufficiently tired.

  3. Start walking at about 3 mph if you are fairly normal(not too old, handicapped or obeese).  If you feel like more than a walk, kick it up to 5 mph, a nice and easy 12 minute mile.  When you want to increase your speed, kick it up to your goal speed for a quarter mile at a time(there should be a quarter mile track display on your treadmill) and then slow down to untill you catch your breath and then do another quarter mile at your goal speed.  After a while you can extend your distance at the goal speed and you'll be exactly where you want to be.
