I don't really understand why you're asking the question, if you feel uncomfortable eating alone, stop doing it and eat with friends.  If you eat alone because you travel all the time, then you probably don't have a choice so why bother asking at all?  I travel most weeks and eat alone, but if I don't feel like it, I order in or get take out!

No, I go out often by myself. I usually bring a book to read while I eat. I enjoy it. I like dining out with friends too.
