Can you advise which one is cheap for local calls - can i buy it on ebay before i get there? How do i activate it? How do i top up the credit when i am in phoenix? Will i still be able to use the credit after a year away from USA? Thanks for your help.

  1. There are tons of prepaid options. All the major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) have prepaid plans. There are also smaller carriers such as Cricket, Virgin Mobile, and Boost Mobile. If you already have an UNLOCKED cell phone, all you need is a sim card. You can buy ahead of time on Ebay or your local Craigslist. You can also try  stores like Wireless Toyz or Yakety Yak wireless once you're in Phoenix. To activate, just call the carrier or go to their website if they offer web activation. They'll ask for your phone's serial number, your sim card number, and the area code you would like to be assigned to.

  2. Why not use your other cell phone?

    I think t-mobile has them.

  3. Go to Wal mart they have all that in electronics.
