I have already researched it in the net and got a lot of information. But what I really need is personal experience. Thank you.

  1. Usualy it is getting mild in may, BUT after a winter with just little snow, they are having a pretty cold spring. So I would pack enough warm clothes, just in case...

It does kind of depend on where you are planing to go visit...

In the south (Ticino) it usualy is a bit warmer then anywhere else in Switzerland.

If you want to, email me about a week before you leave, and I will call up my father (he lives in Switzerland) and ask him, what the weather is doing... that way, I could help you a bit better ;)

  2. Well, by our standards, May is cool as a month and is usually more predictable weather-wise than, say, April - currently it is a comfortable 18°C (64°F) - but may can go up to the mid 20s (Celsius), which is the 70s in Fahrenheit. However, my country's weather is really unpredictable: one moment it's sunny and the next there are clouds in the sky. It is not uncommon for there to be snow here in the middle of August (at higher altitudes) even if the snow doesn't really last long - at all.

My advice on what to pack (as well as the essentials such as t-shirts, trousers, undergarnments, socks etc. etc.) would be to take:

    *A sweater

    *A rain jacket

  3. Yes, maybe the question is: where in Switzerland? Southern (Ticino) seems that spring/sommer came. Maybe it will rain, and a jacket or raincoat will suit you. When it is warm there, it is also humid. So you will need light clothes (you will feel it is very warm). It depends from which country do you come from and if you suffer when it is cold or when it is hot.

  4. It depends where in Switzerland... The italian part should be fine but more "north" can still be tricky. It's a 50:50 chance but to be on the save side just have something warm in your luggage.
