I want to sail around the world to make a documentary. Of course I wont have a job or source of income so I was wondering if anyone had an idea to help me get people on board in supporting this. If I approached you would you support it with maybe a one time donation , or small once a month donation (maybe 1 or 5 dollars )? I could send feedback via internet or have a website with a live feed.

  1. I would think about having BIG sponsors. And maybe have a cause because people are more willing to donate. Like say its for breast cancer research, or cancer in children, and people will LOVE to help. Also throw in you will need to support your self, and they would love to help. I did some large fundraising in my past.

  2. If you sailed alone, that would still be a handfull of money...Just to think about the spare gas (in case it's not windy) food, etc.  Plus you would have to get rid of all of that human waste! Yuck!  And what about taking showers?  That would be one h**l of a trip...If you didn't sail alone, though think about the captain.  He's like a hundred bucks a day...Good luck though.

  3. It helps if you have done some documentary before and can show it.

Otherwise it will sound like you just want a hand out - a free ride.

Where are you going to get a sail boat for around the world trip?  You'll have to pay the captain a ton of money - for his time and boat.

    Good Luck...
