  1. LEARN WING CHUN

wing chun dosen't rely on strengh and it is efective in real fights.

like if some one punches you, block the punch at the elbow so you dont hurt yourself and then punch the attacker back, use both arms at the same time

  2. Well I would say work out, to get in shape, work on your punches, carry mase/pepper spray, because if you do get in deep do do you can get your way out of it. Or try a kick boxing class, or go to a gym and get boxing lessons. I think Ballys fitness gives free trials on fitness programs.

Good luck, and if you really need to, kick them in the nuts, but thats a desperation move ONLY!

  4. Bruce Wayne's ripped, dude!!  Do like Christian Bale and train hard..  Haha.

I just got done answering a "brains over brawns" question..  Brief synopsis of my answer?  You'll need both..

Start with push ups, pull ups, sit ups, things you can do at home.  Research Muscle and Fitness, Men's Health, etc for home workouts you can do.  If you can manage getting to a gym, do it!!  Start eating right, use supplements if you want faster results, and get strong.

Secondly, get some training.  Find a qualified training studio in your area.  I always recommend searching the instructor's list on www.inosanto.com.  Word of mouth is also great, but if all else fails, hit the yellow pages.  Find some schools you can afford that emphasize self-defense--if you want to learn to defend yourself on the street, I don't recommend going to a sport-Judo studio.  Personally, I suggest Filipino Martial Arts or JKD (but go figure based on the website I referred).  There are, however, so many out there.  I can't stress enough, though, that if you're looking for no more than self-defense you're probably going to want to stay away from studios that teach a single traditional martial art.  I'll probably receive h**l for this, but in my opinion, such schools are great at teaching art, but without years and years of study, don't necessarily offer effective self-defense techniques.

I will move to contradict myself by saying the only way to truly defend yourself in the street is by years and years of practice.  While you will be able to derive effective techniques from FMA and JKD schools early in your training, you won't be able to fully utilize them until you learn to truly express yourself in combat.  This can be achieved only by practicing like crazy.

But if that's not an option, go become a cop.  They'll whip you into shape and you'll get to carry a gun.  =)

  5. um bruce wayne wasn't very scrawny. any ways use foot work and a good stiff jab and knock some teeth out. go take boxing or martial arts

  6. First, you don't have to be in actual fight to defend yourself. See, there's a lot of ways to avoid confrontation so why bother being in a situation like that.  As far as I'm concerned, turning back from a fight doesn't mean you're a chicken. It's just playing safe for something that's not worth fighting for. I know many guys just like you ended up in graves 'cause they think fighting their way out of a trouble is a better option than the other way. There is a lot of levels on when you need fight and defend yourself, and the most crucial is a life and death scenario. This is where you really need to make correct choices every ticking seconds. If it's just a verbal conflict, then go ahead. Throw back nasty words at your aggressor. If it's bullying, don't be intimidated, walk away and you really don't need to fight at this point, because the bully will eventually get tired of bullying you if you continue with this process. I'd like to recommend you to go to a martial arts school, particulary; Boxing, Muay Thai, Karate, or any MMA. This disciplines are my top choices for street fights and self-defense.

  7. walk softly and carry a big stick grasshopper.

  8. Uhhhh learn to fight. Go to a martial arts school and don't quit a month later when your not mr. street fighter.

  9. Train to Hit these areas! Have a qualified instructor with you!

  10. the best way to defend yourself is to not get into a fight in the first place. it may seem difficult at times, but there should always be a way to avoid a fight or get out of it. if you're constantly getting into fights, you should consider why that is so, and work on that first.

  11. build a bat lair, train ninjutsu with the ninjas, and find yourself a smart butler who fixes ur toys

  12. Start a fitness program to get your body back into shape so you'll feel better about yourself and won't ever even need to fight because you'll be smart, happy, and attractive, and will easily avoid fights because of your charm and intelligence.

  13. Lift weights, join a martial art, wrestle.

If u get in a fight though and youre still weak, go for the weak points (groin, neck, nose)

  14. Keep your head up, walk with confidence....stand up for yourself but don't run your mouth. Doing these things will show you won't take **** because you give off a confidant vibe.

If you absolutly have to fight, hit hard, hit fast and hit first...contrary to what the other poster said about hitting nuts only when in desperation, you hit what and when you can..no matter what. street fights are never fair and judging by the fact you say you are scrawny...you can't afford to scrap with people because they will most definatly be bigger than you are...I have the same problem...a good thing to do is never take a fight to the ground but know how to get up very quickly when you are taken down...jiu jitsu is only effective in a ring with rules...every second you are on the ground -even if in a dominant position- is a second someone could use your head as a soccer ball.

Kick boxing is alright because it shows the basics and how to punch...if you want to be really effective, Wing Chun kung fu was designed to be picked up very fast adapted specially for smaller/physically weaker opponents and is devistating because it hits to end a fight as soon as possible. In a matter of seconds and not prolong it by kicking muscle tissue as in kickboxing...wing chun kicks aim for joints because you are only as strong as your joints connective tissue..no point in kicking hard at solid thigh muscle which, yes...it will hurt your opponent but if you want to end a fight with the least amount of harm to yourself...aim about 3-5 inches lower and you hit the knee joint..it is more painful and in a street fight there are no rules and I personally would not want him getting up to have a chance to attack me a second time.

Wing chun is also generally recognized for the hand skills of it...if you have seen the bourne movies 95% of that is wing chun techniques...the other 5% is american boxing and pekiti tersia kali which is almost effective as wing chun seeing as how that is the system pekiti tersia kali was based on.

hope this helps...keep a level head and tone and people will generally have no reason to fight you because there is no point seeing as how you aren't intimidating, but i know what happens whe you're a scrawny kid...like I said im the same way..
