  1. Yeah, you might be better at middle or long distance. You could try a 400, 800, or the mile. You never know what you will be good at. You won't look like an idiot. It is your first day, it's ok if you don't do great. Just try your best. Once you are there you will probably get kind of competitive because you want to do well, so it will be ok. It takes a while to get into really good shape. The coaches aren't going to expect you to be amazing on your first day. If you aren't a great sprinter then just build up your endurance for a longer race. There are also field events that you could try. You could try long jump or if you are really strong you can do shotput or discuss. Just tell the coach you aren't sure what you want to do yet and that you want to just try things out right now. You will be fine! Don't worry! Good luck!!!!!!!!

  2. Just because your not good at those races doesn't mean you can't try something else. Im not a sprinter either but im still on varsity for distance. Try longer races, like the 400, 800, or 1600 and see how you do!

  3. Its kind of late to change your distance, now. Just try the the races that you have been training for and then after that you can try an 800 or a 1600. Those are the races that I do, and I like them a lot. And I don't think your times are that bad! You may do better than you think, and I don't think you will lose. Just go and see! No one can judge your abilities from your first meet! There is always room for improvement!

P.S.- Maybe try the 400, too!

  4. before your event you have to stay WARM which means stretch run 50%  20-40 yards do this until your events starts you should have sweat on your face If you don't then your not warm enough. peoples time in the 100 is a 10 to a 11, so you have a lot of work to do. the time in the 200 ir in the 23-24 range. the only way to get better is work hard and get in shape and work on your form when you run.
