  1. I have been using ebay for years.  Make sure the seller you purchase from has a return policy.  Most have the square trade seal on their auction page.  Read feedback others have given them.  Purchase from someone who has a 99% or higher feedback rating.  I've gotten screwed a few times, but I've received at least 95% of the items I've gotten off ebay; maybe more.  Get a paypal account so if a refund is needed, it will go straight to it.  Their is a dispute and resolution section in case you don't receive an item.  The majority of the sellers are honest.  Be wary about getting items from China.

  2. I have bought at least 350 items on Ebay and only had a problem one time.  I feel that most people on there are trustworthy.  There are ways to tell if you shouldn't buy from someone.  Every seller has a feedback page.  If they have cheated somebody, you can find out.  You do have to be careful about shipping rates.  Always be sure to find out before you bid how much it is to ship to your zipcode.  They can sell something for $1 and turn around and try to charge $100 for shipping.  Always read the entire auction.  Sometimes there are electronics that are broken or that come as is.  They will tell you in the listing.  Be sure to see if they have a return policy.

  3. not very, if you want something more trustworthy the you should visit

    http://www.amazon.com

  4. eBay itself it quite trustworthy.  Its the people on it that you have to be careful about.  I would suggest getting a Paypal account to help with the money transactions.  Also, when looking to buy or sell to someone look at their feedback and see what others have said about them.

If you are selling something make sure to receive the money before you send the product so they don't try to scam you, but they will also be wary of you doing this.  So one thing that I have done on multiple occasions on products of higher prices is meeting them at like Wal-Mart or McDonalds (I travel a bit in my state and other local states)
