1) Does one have to pay extra money to their internet service provider for wi-fi (that is wireless internet, right?)

actually, that was basically the only thing i was wondering. if someone could post a link to something helpful, that would be great.

  1. Just buy a router and you don't have to pay extra. If you want wireless from your ISP then they will charge you extra because they will give you a router. But if you buy a router yourself 40$. Then you won't pay extra.  To learn windows secrets and hacks visit my website. The link is in my profile

  2. get a Router and plug it into your computer and you have Wi-Fi

  3. I have an Internet connection through a cable modem. I attached a wireless router to the connection, and now all three of my computers are online with a WiFi connection and no additional cost, except the one-time purchase of the router.

  4. Yes, wi-fi IS internet. Lol. I have an iPod touch, three laptops, two desktops. iPod touch and laptops require wi-fi.

I have a modem and a router. We bought them seperately, they were NOT cheap, but we're not paying for it on a, would you say, monthly basis. We paid once for the modem and router, and have never paid since. Hope I helped. :]
