I have posted photos of it here:

It's a little hard to tell, but it has little white flowers on it.

My main reason for asking about it is this:

1. Will it overtake my flower garden if I transplant it there to allow it to grow up a trellace?

2. Will it survive the winter/ grow next year?

Any answers are appreciated.

  1. Other Names, field bindweed, and small bindweed.

I have it in my yard too it is invasive, It grows where I don’t want it, in my hornless blackberries. I would pull it out and plant a nicer veining plant. I’m ordering new ones this fall.

  2. This is a highly invasive fall blooming clematis. Get rid of it before it goes to seed, or you will have 20-30 of them next year. If you want a good plant for the trellis, try a real clematis, such as a jackmanii if you like purple, or a belle of woking if you prefer white. President clematis is beautiful if you like lavender.

  3. That looks like bindweed, which is horribly invasive and difficult to get rid of.  Yes, it will overtake your garden and eventually your yard if you let it go.  It will grow up a trellis and anything else that it gets near.  It will survive the winter and grow bigger next year.

You'd be better off killing that off by digging it out and planting ornamental morning glory or clematis for your trellis.
