They've got the attention span of a goldfish, any recommendations of activities that will keep them entertained.

  1. Basket or box in the middle of the room (or outside).  Blue balls and red balls, two teams, they need to see how many balls they can throw in the basket.  Children love throwing things!

The game 4 corners.  One corner of the room is A, the next B...C...D.  You close your eyes, count to ten.  The children run into a corner.  Without opening your eyes you shout a corner.

For example A!  Open your eyes, all children in A come to the middle of the room where you are standing and wait there. You count 10 again, the other children run again...you do this until there is one child and that child is the champion.

    Good luck with the goldfish

  2. To stay active, they don't necessarily need to play an official sport. Here are some fun and active activities that they can play!:

    ~Duck, duck, goose.

    ~Four corners.

~Freeze tag (crawl between the frozen person's legs to unfreeze!).

    ~Sharks and minnows.

P.S. I know how you feel when you talk about their attention spans. I'm student teaching at a middle school, and I see them passing notes the whole time and then complaining about bad grades on quizzes! They should pay attention or something!

  3. I feel your comment about the kids having an attention span of a goldfish slightly unfair, if the children lack motivation then the adults in the environment should be working harder to motivate and interest them!

  4. have a look at http://www.enjoyagame.com ... has a selection of games and activities ... indoor and outdoor
